An outline of the DIY skills you'll learn. These options are also customizable.
- Learn how to dye natural fabric such as cotton, hemp, wool, linen + more, using common plants, safe and non-toxic materials, to create beautifully colored garments & yarn.
- How to use safe mordants to make the fabric colorfast, so that the pigments won't fade as quickly.
- Learn how to create enchanting eco- prints. Such as the Japanese Hapa Zome method, the advanced blanket method.
- Along with TIE DYE & clay resist prints.
- Make simple dye baths with locally grown & foraged plants. Along with exotic plants to create shades of yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue, rust, coral, beige, light brown & grey. And the most difficult color to achieve - green.
Get hands-on experience!
You will have the choice of making a flower print or preparing a color dye bath & dye a small cloth napkin for you to keep. All materials provided.
Throughout my experimentations. Not all formulas gave good results. Pigments would wash out right away. Materials were hard to source. Prints were not highly visible.
After a whole lot of time spent on trial & error, I found safe, time-saving, high-quality formulas!!
